Equality Golbat: “A lot of gay people are transphobic, biphobic, acephobic, and intersexphobic. Being ‘part of the community’ doesn’t give you a free pass.”
The queer community is a hodgepodge of very different identities that happen to be marginalized for similar reasons, and it grows divided with every conflation of trans women and drag queens, every assertion of “straight passing privilege”, every straight-up denial of asexuality, and every “I would never date someone with a penis/vagina.” You don’t get to absolve yourself of responsibility for contributing to that marginalization, just by having one of those identities. Check your privilege.

All men benefit from women’s reinforced fear of being hurt for saying no.
read it again and again
Understand that this applies even to non-sexual situations. Women are more likely to be asked for favors from coworkers. Regular “can you file this for me” / “can you cover my shift” / “can you finish up this paperwork” workplace favors. Men are less likely to return those favors. Women are more likely to be seen as “difficult to work with” if they refuse to do favors when requested. Being viewed as ungenerous has negative social and professional consequences.
So yes, even gay men benefit. All men benefit from women’s reinforced fear of being hurt, not just physically, but also socially and professionally, for saying no to anything at all.

re: Baltimore
- There’s no such thing as a peaceful protest in the eyes of a government. You either ignore or accept state violence or you’re considered an aggressor. Period.
- Gang violence and riots do not spring from a vacuum. They are responses to institutional and systemic discrimination, oppression, and abuse. What you see on the news is not an isolated story; it is simply another chapter in a very long series of unfortunate events against poor black people who are trapped in a cycle of violence that they did not start, nor do they perpetuate.
- Do not invoke the Civil Rights Movement and/or MLKJ in any of your anti-riot arguments. First of all, see Point 1. Second of all, if you’re using that same tired argument, I guarantee you that you are (a) not on the front lines of these protests, nor behind the scenes organizing them, NOR putting yourself on the line via social media or any other medium in support of the peaceful protesters or the #BlackLivesMatter movement in general, AND (b) you would not have done any of that in the mid-20th century, either.
- The police will be fine.
- The police deserve it.

IMMIGRATION OFFICER FATALLY SHOOTS UNARMED 19 YR OLD BLACK MAN 10 TIMES DURING BALTIMORE RIOTS.
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer shot and killed 20-year-old Terrence Kellum, Monday afternoon on Detroit’s northwest side.
Police say the agent — part of a fugitive task force involving ICE and officers with the Detroit Police Department — was attempting to serve an armed robbery warrant at a home in the 9500 block of Evergreen near W. Chicago when the shooting occurred.
“I am told there was no forced entry into the residence, that they were allowed inside,” said Detroit Police Chief James Craig. “And I’m also told that the agent may have been faced with a threat, and it was at that point when he decided to use deadly force.” Craig would not talk more specifically about that alleged threat.
One of the eyewitnesses, a woman, shouted at the chief as she described what she claims happened. “It was 10 bullets…and did it take 10 bullets? When he came out, they didn’t have the handcuffs on him!” she said. “They shot him! He was not able to run to do nothin’. Y’all didn’t give him a chance!”
An Investigation has been promised but we all know how that goes….

basically ever since I tweeted the first tweet… I’ve had to combat the most ignorant white souls on this planet… All of them using the same excuses.. All of them making it about themselves rather than admitting the injustices..All of them calling me racist for speaking the truth… The sad thing is for once I can say people on tumblr understand more than twitter…
It’s saddening and disgusting that they still attempt to remain blind.. It’s exhausting and I’m sick of educating the hopeless..
ALL of the facts and proof but you still bypass it all to say “NOT ALL WHITE PEOPLE” They care more about not looking racist than they do about the injustices that have occurredmy tweets that rocked the world..or my inbox at least
