ReCore is an Xbox One exclusive, but let's hope it's not actually

Recore

One of the best-looking games so far at Microsoft's E3 conference is ReCore. It's a new game from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune's studio, Comcept, and Armature Studio, which is headed by former Metroid Prime devs. Of course, it's an Xbox One exclusive—but that hasn't stopped games from coming to PC in the past, right? Adorable robot dog below:

Fallout 4 footage shows laser musket in action

Fallout 4 Musket

At Microsoft's Xbox E3 conference, Todd Howard showed off more footage from Fallout 4. We saw some human NPCs, a powerful hand-cranked laser musket, and the lead character in power armor going toe-to-toe with a Deathclaw.

We also learned that Fallout 4 mods created on PC will be playable on the Xbox version of the game. But, you know, we'll be playing them on PC.

Check out the new footage below, via GamesHQ.

21 Reasons Why Fallout 4 is Already Making Us Glow Like Uranium

The Glamorous Wardrobe

It wouldn't be a Fallout game without a fabulous closet of stunning evening wear to stroll around in. There's nothing better than slaying mutants while dressed to the nines.

This rough-and-ready companion option

This is Preston Garvey, rugged leader of the Commonwealth Minutemen faction. Like the cut of his rugged jib? Good news! You can also seduce him in the ever-romantic Museum of Freedom ... regardless of your character's gender. (Photo by: Bethesda)

This Amazing Real Life Pip-Boy

The Fallout 4 Special Edition includes this incredible, real-life Pip-Boy replica. It's not only a to-scale re-creation, but also a housing for your phone. Your phone displays an app linked to the game's Pip-Boy. You can adjust your weapons and armor on the fly while completely immersing yourself in the apocalyptic future. (Photo by: Bethesda)

That Lovable Dog Companion

Scouring the wacky wasteland on your own is no fun. So Bethesda has provided a canine companion. Players can even give the cute little guy commands, like, "Retrieve a wrench from that radioactive dump." Fingers crossed the dog doesn't die in some dark, twisted tragedy. (Please don't die. Please don't die.) (Photo by: Bethesda)

All. Those. Perks.

Like perks? Of course you do. The Fallout franchise is famous for 'em. For this game, there are 70 perks, and each perk has a set of ranks. These total 275 different iterations of ranks.

This Giant Freakin' Train on Fire

Plot details are still scarce for this new game, but whatever's happening with this flaming bullet train careening off its tracks in the latest trailer ... it's sure to be epic. (Photo by: Bethesda)

The Dynamic Character Creation Options

Fallout 3 was a great game, but no matter how long gamers spent in its character creator, the on-screen avatar looked like a mutant cave dweller. Thankfully, it looks like Bethesda's souped up the character customization, with a cool interactive scene between a husband and a wife. Players can even end up with someone easy on the eyes this time around. (Photo by: Bethesda)

The Impressive Sense of Scope

Fallout 4's creators have stated that "player freedom is the absolute number one goal," and from early looks at the game, it looks like they've accomplished that. When a character a emerges from Vault 111 to take in the desolated landscape of a ruined Boston, the sense of scale is awe-inspiring. (Photo by: Bethesda)

This Devious Weapon Design System

Fallout games can be a bit overwhelming, given the piles of useless junk lying around. But now, it looks like players can will finally be able to put all that stuff to great use. The new workbench allows for a gigantic variety of Frankenstein-esque weapon mashups we can't wait to wield.

That Snarky Fallout Humor

Fallout has a proud tradition of gallows humor, and it looks like Fallout 4 carries the torch forward into the future. It's a welcome relief when juxtaposed with the merciless and harsh climate.

The Grotesque Gore

We didn't explicitly see a "Bloody Mess" perk for Fallout 4 yet, but based on the glimpses of combat on display, it looks like the franchise's signature ultra-violence is back, along with the V.A.T.S. targeting system. Lock onto a limb and fire!

The Added Fun of Extreme Makeover: Wasteland Edition

Probably the coolest new feature in Fallout 4 is the home creation system. Players can rip apart buildings for scrap and use the material to build their own mansions out of rusted steel. With elaborate electrical grids and raider defense systems, we're likely looking at hours of post-apocalyptic home improvements.

The Radioactive Critters

There's nothing worse than getting ambushed by a hideous creature when taking a lovely stroll along a burned-out field. Between mutant brahmin and gigantic bloodbugs, players will have their hands full fending off Fallout's fiends.

The Fact That Codsworth Actually Knows Your Name

Ever-faithful robot servant Codsworth will actually pronounce a player's name audibly, thanks to his stored databank of more 1,000 popular names.

The Story That Begins in an Idyllic America

While Fallout 3 began in media res, Fallout 4 offers a glimpse of the world that was lost before a nuclear catastrophe. The main character begins with a happy family living in a quasi-futuristic suburb when disaster strikes. This unique setup suggests the story will have several direct ties to the past as it develops.

The Retro Mini Games

It looks like the in-game Pip-Boy has a host of new features. With a layered armor system and retro mini games, like the Donkey Kong inspired title above, it looks like Fallout 4 has made surfing the menus as fun as possible.

The Cool Custom Armor Creation

Donning power armor is a rite of passage in any Fallout game, and the newest installment has a range of new customizations, specific to each section of the character's body. Time to stomp the mole rats back to the stone age!

The Unique Boston Setting

We've already rampaged through the wreckages of Washington, D.C., and Vegas in past Fallout games. Now it's time for the cradle of liberty to get a mutated makeover. The concept art and still images from the post-nuclear Boston landscape look fascinating.

These Giant Flyable War Machines

In the grand tradition of anarchic open-world games, the vault refugee can hijack a helicopter and rain destruction upon enemy factions. An overhead view of the destitute world might just give us shivers.

The Cool Fallout Shelter Mobile Game

Bethesda clearly had fans in mind during its press conference: The company announced a free tie-in Fallout game for mobile. And it's available right now. A fun blend of sim and strategy games like XCOM and FTL, Fallout Shelter is a must-download to tide over fans until the full Fallout 4 releases on November 10th, 2015.

The Mod Scene is Coming to Xbox One

Bethesda announced at the Microsoft press conference that Fallout 4 on the Xbox One will have access to any of the player-created mods on the PC version of Fallout 4. Finally, console players won't be left out of the cool mod scene that has made drastic improvements to games like Fallout 3 and Skyrim!

Microsoft reveals a slew of Xbox One indie games at E3

by Devindra Hardawar

Microsoft's massive E3 press conference wasn't just about big-budget shooters -- the company also took some time to highlight the many smaller titles coming from indie developers. The highlights include Tacoma, the next game from Gone Home studio Fullbright, which is about a woman who finds herself stranded on a space station; Ashen, a stylized puzzle adventure game that seems to have the scale of Shadow of the Colossus; and Beyond Eyes, a painterly-looking game about a young girl exploring the outdoors. We also got a quick look at several other titles in a promo video, which you can check out below.

Dean Hall's next game is Ion, an "emergent narrative MMO"

Ion

DayZ creator Dean Hall has been working with technology company Improbable on a new game. At Microsoft's E3 press conference today, he revealed that Ion is an "emergent narrative massively-multiplayer online game"—well, that's not unexpected from Hall.

"Players will build, live in and inevitably die in huge floating galactic constructions as humanity makes its first steps colonizing the universe," according to the trailer description. "Technology from Improbable allows ION to have a massive interconnected universe with fully simulated environments such as power grids, air pressure and heat; all to help stave off the unending vacuum of space."

Check out the trailer below:

Tacoma trailer explores the abandoned Lunar Transfer Station

Tacoma

In the Microsoft E3 conference's 'oh yeah, and also we have indies' section, we got another look at Fullbright's follow up to Gone Home. Studio co-founder Steve Gaynor was on stage to introduce a small slice of footage, showing the game's protagonist explore the creepy abandoned space station of the game's title. Like Gone Home, it appears to be a game about walking around an empty space; only this empty space is in, well, space.

Tacoma is out next year, and yes, despite all the Xbox branding, it's coming to PC too.

Xbox One 'Rainbow Six Siege' will come with both 'Vegas' games

by Aaron Souppouris

To accompany today's news that Xbox One will soon be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games, Ubisoft just announced that Rainbow Six: Vegas and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 will be free for anyone that buys the latest game in the franchise, Rainbow Six: Siege. Although no one has explained exactly how this'll work, all Xbox 360 games will need to be downloaded (rather than played by disc), so you'd assume Seige will arrive with download codes for both titles. Ubi is the second developer to announce such a deal today, as Bethesda is giving away Fallout 3 with Xbox One copies of Fallout 4. Hopefully this becomes a trend of sorts -- it'd make a nice change from having to buy all those "definitive" editions, wouldn't it?

Fallout 4 is releasing in November

Fallout 4

Following on the heels of the announcement trailer released earlier this month, Bethesda gave us a great heaping eyeful of Fallout 4 at their E3 conference on Sunday. In addition to a ton of concept art (coming soon to an enormous hardcover collection, I'm sure), we got a good look at the new character creation tool, with which you can sculpt and alter the details of your character's face while peering into a bathroom mirror.

Fallout 4

We also got confirmation of what the first trailer hinted at: Fallout 4 begins before the apocalypse, and we'll be playing as the sole survivor of Vault 111..

VATS is back, as we saw the lone survivor blasting some mole rats. We also got to see more of Dogmeat, who you'll be able to give contextual commands to. An upgraded Pip-boy was also showcased, that even allows you to minigames on it.

A new crafting system will let you hammer together the weapon of your dreams, and you'll even be able to customize your power armor. Base-building? Sure, why not! You'll be able to salvage materials, build yourself a home, wire it, power it, and even add automated turrets to defend your home from raiders. You'll be able to establish multiple bases and even run Brahmin caravans between them.

F4c

If you're looking to enhance your experience, the Collector's Edition of the game will come with an actual Pip-boy—one you can insert your smartphone into to act as its screen. A Fallout 4 app will provide a second screen experience. As Todd Howard put it: "As far as stupid gimmicks go, this is the best fucking one I've ever seen."

More importantly, the release date: Fallout 4 is releasing on November 10, 2015.

Below, you can watch the entirety of Bethesda's Fallout 4 showcase, which takes you from concept art to gameplay footage, and highlights the game's weapon customization, crafting, base-building, and combat.

Have a sneak peak of changes coming to The Elder Scrolls Online

Amidst all the Doom, Dishonored 2, and Fallout 4 eyecandy shown at Bethesda's E3 conference, there was also a short video teasing some of the changes coming to The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

You can watch the video below and get a look at Imperial City, the fallen capital of Tamriel, and Orsinium, Realm of the Orcs, as well as glimpses of several other locations both in the overworld and below ground.

Fallout 4: A Lovingly Crafted, Staggeringly Varied Wasteland

If there was any lingering question about what Bethesda's most important IP is, the publisher put that to rest in front of a sold-out Dolby Theatre auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday.

During a one-hour press conference that featured a robust slate of triple-A games that any publisher would envy, including DOOM and Dishonored 2, it was Fallout 4 that closed the curtain.

One key problem for Bethesda is that the inherent bliss of Fallout games--their wondrous sense of freedom to draw your own narrative path--is inevitably diminished when portrayed through cinematic and choreographed trailers. Which is why Todd Howard, the executive producer of the game, opened his demonstration with a long montage of concept art, as opposed to in-game footage. The promise is obvious; Bethesda wants you to understand how much of its world will be available when the final build ships. (The Fallout 4 release date is November 10, if you're asking).

"This is a far more personal Fallout, with your hero given a voice, a dog to keep you company, and quite tragically, a wife and child to lose after the bomb lands."

The company appears to still be a little shy about showing the world in forensic detail, however, with its gameplay demonstration frequently skipping between scenes, and jumping from first-person to third-person perspectives. A wise PR move, certainly, with the game's graphics under scrutiny from some quarters, but not exactly an answer to those critics either.

Bethesda's focus of the pitch was not graphical fidelity, of course, but scale and possibility. Howard referred to Fallout 4's Boston wasteland as "an enormous, dynamic world, where you can create what you want, and do what you want."

Driving the point home, he stated: "Player freedom remains our absolute number one goal."

Predictable press conference hyperbole, you might have thought, until Howard listed a remarkable number of new options available to players. From wide-ranging apparel choices, to hundreds of possibilities to modify your weapons, Fallout 4 wants players to make more choices than ever. If you want, you could even build your own homes and buildings. You can find jetpacks, ride helicopters, and can even play 8-bit games on your new Pip-Boy.

It even comes with a Pip-Boy app for your Android or iOS smartphone--which Howard proudly proclaimed is "the best f**king second screen experience" out there. For those interested, here's a closer look at the Pip-Boy app and the real-life Pip-Boy included in the Fallout 4 special edition.

Meanwhile, vast volumes of in-game audio have been recorded (apparently, a thousand names were recorded alone just so your child's name can be uttered). Many of those recordings will not be heard, with the game utilising a Mass Effect-esque conversation tree system.

This is a natural evolution of Fallout 3, with every single element expanded upon, sometimes to an unbelievable degree. But it also appears to be a far more personal Fallout, with your hero given a voice, a dog to keep you company, and quite tragically, a wife and child to lose after the bomb lands

Fallout 4 has been in development for four years, and while some may lament the slightly awkward animations, you really can sense how much love and energy went into building this world. Boston is a vulgar wasteland, but it's Bethesda's vulgar wasteland, and there's nothing half-hearted about it.

Fallout 4, Dishonored E3 2015 Figures Already on Ebay for Over $300

Today at Bethesda's E3 2015 press conference, the company gave out limited-edition figurines to attendees and, somewhat expectedly, they're already up on Ebay.

The figurines are from Doom, Fallout, and Dishonored, games that headlined the Bethesda's press conference. And, within minutes of the close of the conference, the figures popped up on the online auction site.

A quick search reveals the set of three are available in the $300 price range. And, unsurprisingly, the extremely rare figures are selling almost instantly.

In addition to those given to attendees of its press conference, Bethesda had a few up for grabs during its subsequent Q&A livestream. We expect these will show up on eBay soon too.

Bethesda has confirmed the Fallout 4 release date as November 10. The press conference was a bonanza of news, with a Fallout 4 Pip-Boy edition (it has a real-life Pip-Boy in it!), a Fallout mobile game, and more revealed.

Check out our complete Bethesda E3 2015 news round-up for everything you need to know on Fallout 4, Doom, Dishonored 2, and more.

Doom E3 2015 First Look Gallery

The Bethesda E3 2015 press conference started out with the first public showing of the new Doom game, and it was a substantial series of trailers and demos. It's gruesome, violent, and chaotic.
